Toccoa has a variety of historical buildings and houses including a
Greek Revival home built in 1907, the
Stephens County Courthouse, built the same year, and the
Stephens County Historical Headquarters and Museum, built in 1898. Toccoa will also be the setting for the Paul Anderson Memorial Park featuring historical items from the life of
Paul Anderson, "The World's Strongest Man". The Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts is housed in a former movie theater in downtown Toccoa. The
Toccoa-Stephens County Community Theatre and Toccoa Orchestra Guild provide cultural entertainment throughout the year.
There are numerous recreational opportunities on the mountains and lakes in the Toccoa area. The mountains offer hiking for a few hours or many days duration on trails through forests of indescribable beauty. Stephens County is blessed with the Panther Creek, Currahee Mountain and Middle Broad River Trails. Trophy trout fishing is nearby for enthusiasts in waters with limited access.
